Camp with your horses!
Saddle up and get out of town—with your own horses. This page is for campgrounds, horse parks, and trail camps with corrals, trailer parking, and riding nearby. You bring the horses; you camp; you ride.
What’s the difference?
-
This page (Camping): tent, RV, or horse-camp sites built for your horses.
-
Vacation Rentals: a house, cabin, lodge, or luxury resort room you rent by the night or week, with a place for your horses (and sometimes a campsite too). Dude ranches and “stay a week with your horse” resorts live there. Also places that provide horses when you don't have your own reside here
-
Trail Rides: they provide their horses. You don’t have to bring your own.
-
Horse Camps: scheduled riding camps, including kids camps & retreats.
-
Overnight Boarding: a safe layover barn when you’re just passing through.
Some places show up on both Camping and Vacation Rentals. That’s intentional: if you can rent a home and camp or corral your horses on the same property, you’ll find it on both pages.
Browse by region below and plan the trip.

Reservations, hay, and health requirements (for the State of Utah):
-
Hay on National Forest: Certified weed-free hay, pellets, cubes, straw, or mulch. Bales must be tagged or you must carry current certification. Intermountain Region order (all Utah national forests).
-
Entering Utah from another state: Negative Coggins (EIA) within 12 months + Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health papers, 30 days). Utah horses staying in-state: Coggins is not required at these public camps unless a private facility asks. Carry papers anyway.
-
Brand / proof of ownership: Required when hauling in Utah.

Camping with Horses | Equestrian Sites | State Park | Trail Access
Two equestrian sites only — White Rock Bay sites 13 and 14. Horses
are not allowed at Bridger Bay, on the beach, or on Frary Peak /
Dooly Knob. Hitching rails at White Rock Bay Trailhead, Mountain View Trailhead, and Fielding Garr Ranch. No water troughs. Ride designated trails; stay on/near the marked route (up to about 100 feet off-trail, follow the trail line). Bison, pronghorn, bighorn, and mule deer on the island.
White Rock Bay is primitive: picnic table, fire pit, pit toilets. No water or electricity at the horse sites. Water, flush toilets, showers, and dump station at Bridger Bay (~1–2 miles). Tents and self-contained RVs. Site holds up to 16 people; reservation covers two vehicles ($18 each extra vehicle). Quiet hours 10 pm–7 am, including generators.

Fee: about $40/night plus park entry (causeway / wildlife fee). Firewood at the visitor center when open. No-see-ums (biting gnats) are bad April–June — mesh head nets work better than spray.

Reservations: ReserveAmerica or 1-800-322-3770. Book at least two days ahead. Weekends fill. Day-before / day-of is first-come if anything is left.
Hay: not National Forest — no published weed-free order. Still smart if you ride any public land after.
Health: no camp-specific Coggins rule for Utah horses. Out-of-state: negative Coggins (12 months) + CVI (30 days). Brand / proof of ownership when hauling in Utah. Bring all stock water.

Their horses for rides and BYO horses for camping. Pack trips offered. Duchesne River / forest trails nearby. Season May–October, 7 days a week. Weekdays quieter and often cheaper. Cabins are bare-bones — bring sheets or a sleeping bag. Café hours can be limited (reviews often note afternoon/evening).
Reservations: Phone only. Call for cabin, RV, tent, and horse-pen pricing and to tell them how many of your horses you’re bringing. No public online booking.
Hay / vaccinations: Not posted. Ask when you book (Coggins if coming from out of state; weed-free hay if you ride onto the forest).
